DR. JOHN DANFULANI: El-rufai's Suitable Replacement As Ministerial Nominee

Recalling a group under aegis of  Kaduna State All Progressive Congress (APC) critical stakeholders comprising of both serving and former LG Chairmen, zonal party executives appealing to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to consider a Southern Kaduna person for ministerial slot in place of former Kaduna state Governor Mal Nasir El-rufai.

In what appears to be a biased, sentimental, partisan sponsored proposal, the group went further to proposed the nomination of the Nigerian Population Council commissioner, Dr. Abdulmalik Durunguwa as El-Rufai's suitable replacement. The group stylishly listed and emphasized on the role Durunguwa played during the 2023 presidential and state governorship election in favor his political party, the All Progressive Congress (APC).

I wish to point out that; political appointments of all kind, in this case Ministerial appointment should not be reserved as rewards for the roles played by potential appointees, and should equally not be seen as birthrights of the members of the ruling party (party loyalist). Political appointments should strictly be based on merit: a proven track record, credibility and eligibility. Every true son of Southern Kaduna state knows the man fit for the job,

Dr. John Danfulani who is as good as Mal Nasir El-rufai alongside Dr. Durunguwa, is the most suitable candidate for Kaduna state ministerial slot as a substitute Mal Nasir El-rufai's nomination. Dr. John Danfulani, an activist known for his involvement in various social and political issues. He has been an outspoken advocate for human rights, social justice, and democratic governance in Nigeria. Danfulani has also contributed to public discourse through his writings and lectures, shedding light on issues such as corruption, governance, and inequality. His work has made him a prominent figure in civil society and academia in Nigeria.

Danfulani, a distinguished figure with an impressive background in international relations, academia, research, activism, and politics, is arguably the most suitable replacement for Mal Nasir El-rufai on the ministerial slot given to Kaduna state (Southern Kaduna supposedly). His multifaceted expertise makes a strong case for his suitability for such a role.

As a holder of a PhD in international relations and a respected university don, Dr. Danfulani brings a wealth of knowledge to the table. His academic background equips him with a deep understanding of global dynamics, diplomacy, and international affairs, which are critical in fostering productive relationships and collaborations on the national and international stages.

Furthermore, Dr. Danfulani's roles as a climate change activist and human rights advocate underscore his commitment to crucial societal issues. His advocacy for climate action aligns with the growing global emphasis on environmental sustainability, a vital consideration for any government. Additionally, his dedication to human rights reflects a strong ethical stance, an essential trait in a leader responsible for policy decisions that affect the lives of citizens.

With a track record as an advocate of good governance and an expander of democracy, Dr. Danfulani demonstrates a commitment to effective administration and political inclusivity. His emphasis on these principles suggests a potential ability to drive positive change, streamline government processes, and ensure equitable representation for all segments of society.

Dr. Danfulani's grassroots political involvement further bolsters his case. His direct engagement with local communities can provide valuable insights into their needs and challenges, allowing for more targeted policy implementation. This understanding of ground-level realities is essential for effective governance and policymaking.

I pray various stakeholders from southern Kaduna and good citizens of Kaduna state and Nigeria to support my call on His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinibu to consider  nominating the stainless, credible, eligible and most suitable human right and climate change activist Dr. John Danfulani as a substitute for Mal Nasir El-rufai's nomination to be a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
